Summary:
Promotes and maintains a positive service culture.
Performs a variety of duties to include serving meals to patients and visitors in a professional and efficient manner.
Informs patients of meal and menu practices and obtains meal preferences and selections, if applicable.
Replenishes floor stock items in nursing unit pantries and delivers enteral formulas for patients to nursing units.
Performs other tasks as related to patient meal service as assigned.
Adheres to safe food handling procedures.
Adheres to the Values in Practice initiatives.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATIONHigh School Graduate or GEDEXPERIENCEHospital or Healthcare experience preferredOne (1) year experience in food service operation preferredOne (1) year experience in customer service preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITYAbility to read and write English:
follow oral and written instructionsAbility to clearly and effectively communicateAbility to tell time and read a clockAbility to perform basic Math functionsGood communication, organizational, and customer service skillsMust possess or have ability to learn basic computer skillsWORKING CONDITIONSENVIRONMENTExposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicalsSubject to hazards of flammable, explosive gases Subject to burns and cuts Subject to varying and unpredictable situationsExposed to hazards of steam and heat Exposed to varying degrees of kitchen elementsSubject to standing and walking most of the workdayExtreme Cold:
