WHAT DOES A STAKEHOLDER RELATIONSHIP TAX CONSULTANT DO? As a Stakeholder Relationship Tax Consultant you will provide tax advice and assistance through the development, implementation, and coordination of promotional/marketing programs, products, and services to educate and assist taxpayers. You will be responsible for developing partnerships which will have national implications and broad impact on the compliance behavior of a large portion of the taxpayer population. The programs will provide technical and procedural advice and assistance to taxpayers, tax practitioners, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), business owners, attorneys, stakeholders and partners. As a Stakeholder Relationship Tax Consultant you will:
Review and analyze taxpayers' financial information, and methods to recommend alternatives for filing and payment of federal taxes. Review and analyze survey data to recommend improvements to existing products and services. Provide technical tax law policies, practices, and principles. Coordinate activities to plan and resolve issues regarding marketing/promotional ideas. Develop, recommend and implement marketing plans, for agency programs and products. Create and disseminate news releases, newsletters, flyers, bulletins, media events, web pages, product lines, or other marketing promotions. Provide administrative and logistical support for educational and marketing activities, including ordering of materials, booth set-up and general support. Initiate and develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to advance IRS compliance initiatives through education, outreach and volunteer tax preparation. You must have 3 years of general experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service. General experience for this position includes:
experience that required knowledge of:
Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Planning and organizing work; and Communicating effectively orally and in writing. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledges, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. Experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other non-specialized tasks) is not creditable. ORYou may substitute education for general experience, as follows:
Four (4) year course of study in any field leading to a Bachelor's or higher degree, in an accredited college or university. OR For Grades 5 through 11:
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. - The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
knowledge of tax law and/or relevant procedures to assist partners in developing marketing products and services, implementing marketing and communication plans to inform and educate on technical tax issues; and skills in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, making oral presentations, and producing written products. ORYou may substitute education for specialized experience, as follows:
One (1) full academic year of graduate education in a related field of study, Superior Academic Achievement may be met by having a Bachelor's degree, with one of the following:
A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all completed undergraduate courses or those completed in the last 2 years of study, or a GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all courses in the major field of study or those courses in the major completed in the last 2 years of study, or rank in the upper one third of the class in the college, university, or major subdivision, or membership in a national honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. GS- 9 LEVEL:
You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
knowledge of tax law and/or relevant procedures in order to promote free tax assistance products and services to taxpayers and partners by planning and implementing marketing and communications plans to inform and educate customers; Ability to develop marketing products and services; skill establishing and maintaining relationships; and the ability to write clear, concise reports. ORYou may substitute education for specialized experience, as follows:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field of study, or two years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field of study, or LL.B. or J.D., if related. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following, if applicable:
You must have been at the next lower grade level of the grade you are applying to for 52 weeks (time-in-grade requirement).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
