Support Services Specialist

The incumbent implements Equipment/Space policy for the Regional Office's (RO) unique and or complex organizations. Works with both the Supervisory Support Services Specialist and the administrative office to ensure constant surveillance. Along with Other responsibilities that include:
Contributes to the planning process for revised space assignments and has input into the necessary diagram and floor plans. Prepares and revises floor plans, maintains space control records, drafts new or updated directives, and furnishes advice to the Supervisory Support Services Chief and the VARO leadership Team. Performs property management duties such as equipment needs analysis, maintain records, establishing repair and replacement parameters. Collects data and submits reports as required to VA, GSA, and other offices in a timely manner and in response to supervisory direction. The incumbent serves as the alternate PCI (PIV Card Issuance) and is responsible for the administration of the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) system. The incumbent ensures compliance with the RO and Co directives on requisitions for printing, reproduction, and distribution of forms. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-09) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. GS-09:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-07) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is experience that demonstrated knowledge of the methods and procedures for providing or performing a variety of functions and services applicable to the position to be filled; ability to plan, organize, and control work involving diverse activities; ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others; and skill in oral and written communications. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Management analyst or technician or other work that included study, analysis, or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices, and procedures. Administrative officer or assistant, budget administration, program analysis, or other work that demonstrated knowledge of an organization and its functions, and the ways in which support services can facilitate the work of the organization. Office management experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support services such as typing, mail processing, purchase of supplies and equipment, etc. Secretarial work that required monitoring and coordinating administrative and processing work of subordinate elements through a system of internal procedures, controls, production, progress reporting, etc., to insure the efficient operation of an organization. Military experience that included responsibility for directing a variety of support functions such as communications, property management, mail service, facilities and equipment maintenance, etc. OR Applicants may substitute education for experience if it meets the IOR degree requirements for the GS 09:
GS-09:
A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or two (2) full academic years of graduate-level education in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. Applicants may substitute education for experience if it meets the IOR degree requirements for the GS 11:
GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled , or LL.M., if related. OR Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at GS-09/11 level. Combining Education and
Experience:
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
