Administrative Support Assistant

Provides program and administrative support and assistance to Assistant Education Officer. The incumbent is responsible for the overall administrative functioning of the Division. The incumbent proceeds independently in performing various tasks that require substantive knowledge of the division policies and benefit programs administered by the division. Provides information that is utilized in statistical and narrative reports; assembles and inputs statistical information into work measurement and management information reports. Uses various computer software applications to generate final reports on various topics. Assists in the preparation of memoranda, budget reports, narrative reports, recording of staff meetings and conferences, letters and replies to correspondence received in the division's front office. Assists in special projects that impact various administrative and program issues that affect the Education Division. Position Description Title/PD#:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS 6 grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. Experience:
Applicants must have One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to:
Positions that has equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Where you have performed a variety of complex professional, administrative, and technical assignments. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
