Quality Assurance Specialist
A Buffalo-area military contractor has an opening for a Quality Specialist. The Quality Specialist isresponsible for maintaining and improving the company's quality management system (QMS) in accordance with ISO-9001 standards and customer specific requirements resulting in total customer satisfaction.
Key
Responsibilities:
Manage, track, and resolve customer complaints including direct communication with the customer to assure timely resolution.
Manage customer returns process including tracking of returns, corrective actions and metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
Control of non-conforming, preventative, and effective corrective action process.
Identify, Investigate, and report quality issues and direct preventative and corrective action efforts.
Maintain an effective document and record retention program (NCR, CAR, COC)
Develop and maintain a documented internal audit program.
Execute and maintain a documented calibration program for all process and inspection equipment
Maintain the ISO Documentation System.
Create, collect and report Quality Metrics for management review meetings
Participate in the Engineering change notice (ECN) & Material Review Board (MRB) process.
Assist purchasing and engineering in vendor selection and review vendor performance on a regular basis.
Collaborate with engineering and production departments to determine quality requirements for new and existing products.
Requirements:
2 Year degree in technical discipline, 4 year degree preferred.
5 years Quality experience implementing and improving quality systems within a manufacturing environment
5 years' experience within an certified ISO system
Ability to read engineering drawings and inspect critical requirements (GD&T, PPAP, PFMEA experience preferred)
Proficient use Microsoft Office products
Skilled in writing reports
General knowledge and understanding of Lean 5S & 6 Sigma concepts preferred
Shift: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30/5:00 PM
Pay: $38K - 42K/year, based on experience
