Parent Network of WNY has an opening for an Information and Referral Specialist with a strong background in mental health services. The position is part time (20 hours per week)
Job duties:
Provide support and information to families and professionals with concerns about a specific disability, special education, behavior, or community resources. Information is provided via phone, email, or in person, and primarily by sending individualized information based on the contacts needs and completes required documentation.
It is essential that the candidate be a good listener, be able to work well with people, have comprehensive knowledge of community services and special education, and be able to share accurate and meaningful information. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively collaborate with schools and organizations throughout WNY.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in education or related discipline, specific graduate degree, a minimum of 4 years related experience or an appropriate combination of education, human service/training, knowledge of mental health services and specific discipline-related experience. It is preferred that the candidate be the parent of an individual with special needs or be the primary recipient of services themselves.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
