Entry Level Sales Associate

Blue Sky Design Supply desires a self-motivated individual to be part of our team as an entry level sales associate. The job requires a passion for sustainable design. It also requires one to be tech savvy, crafty have an eye for color, as well as the ability to sell products and build rapport with clients to keep them coming back. Additionally, the position supports the owner on consulting projects. This is a part-time position, approximately 12 24 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
1. Build customer confidence of customers by making the store experience interactive, engaging and reassuring.
2. Maintain the visual appeal of the showroom.
3. Prepare and process sales orders.
4. Coordinate material shipments.
5. Maintain customer files and information.
6. Use your time well, even when not serving customers.
7. Keep abreast of green construction products and techniques.
8. Conduct research for building the image of the company and targeting potential clients.
9. Online marketing activity and social media.
10. Assist with document control on consulting projects.
Requirements of this position include:
1. Obtained or working towards BA/BS degree in interior design, architecture, environmental studies or related field, or equivalent experience.
2. 1-3 years work experience in a in a consumer products/retail industry.
3. Knowledge of LEED guidelines.
4. Knowledge of basic architectural/interior finishes.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal English communication skills.
6. Proven ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload
7. Provide high quality service to clients.
8. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
9. Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision.
Additional experience, skills and technical knowledge of interest:
1. Advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Photoshop.
3. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
4. Extremely detail oriented.
5. Comfortable in a heavily data driven environment.
6. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
