Data ArchitectureM&T Business and its Enterprise Data and Analytics organization is undergoing multi-year transformation effort which includes enhancing current Data Architecture and data science capabilities and modernizing our technology stack to run these workloads on the Cloud platform.
Team works closely with Business users /stakeholders across different lines of business, products, functions to build data products to support Analytical and Operational Reporting, Data visualization, Dashboarding, search and Advanced analytics capabilities.
The team's mission is focused on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners who can utilize the same, to reduce administrative cost, increase revenues and improve the customer's experience.

In this lead role, you will have an opportunity to design, implement, and maintain our cloud-based data architecture, with a specific focus on Snowflake.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, data modeling, and database management, along with hands-on experience working with Snowflake or other similar platforms.
About the RoleThe Data Architect Lead will coordinate and lead a team of Data Architects and Data Modelers, to develop data models and solutions for the design and implementation of large-scale data designs that will facilitate the build out of data products meeting the needs of consumers across various domains in the organization.
In this hands-on role, the Data Architect Lead will have the necessary technology design, communication, and leadership skills to independently manage highly visible and complex projects from start to finish.
Within the Data Architecture Team, develop and maintain documentation of the data architecture, data flow and data models of the data platforms for various audiences.
Additionally, provides direction on adoption of Cloud technologies (Snowflake) and industry best practices in the field of data warehouse architecture and modelling.

Develop and implement data modeling best practices to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
Support design and develop scalable, high-performance data architectures on the Snowflake cloud data platform to meet the evolving business needs and data growth.
Develop and maintain documentation of the data architecture, data flow and data models of the data warehouse appropriate for various audiences.
Provide direction on adoption of Cloud technologies (Snowflake) and industry best practices in the field of data warehouse architecture and modelling.
Review and recommend improvements to data model designs with a focus on those areas influencing interoperability, and analytics.
Understand data strategy, drivers and needed capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise data systems and platforms to drive the organization's targeted outcomes.
Consult with delivery teams regarding the most critical or complex data architecture areas.
Provide consulting support to solution architects and ensure the initiative is aligned with overall enterprise data architecture.

Data SupportEnsure consumers have the information and resources they need to use the data products (e.

Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years' related experience.
Robust understanding of full-cycle product development within an Agile framework.
Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle, including developing and maintaining detailed project plans from discovery to delivery.
