65 an hour Buffalo Medical Group is seeking reliable and customer-oriented Switchboard Operators to join our team.
As a Switchboard Operator you will be responsible for handling incoming calls, providing information to callers, and directing calls to the appropriate departments or individuals.
The ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

PT Schedule #1 - Friday and Saturday nights from 10:
00pm to 7:
00am and Monday's from 2:
00pm to 10:
00pm.
PT Schedule #2 - Saturdays and Sundays on either first shift (7:
00am to 3:
00pm) or second shift (3:
00pm to 10:
00pm) and one shift during the week as needed from 2:
00pm to 10:
00pm.
Must be available to train in-house on first and second shifts and one overnight shift.
After training is satisfactorily completed position will be fully remote.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Channels all incoming calls and routes calls to the appropriate departments and physician offices and/or hold calls when necessary.
Keep track of office sign outs and lunches, screens all calls for offices not in, takes messages, emergencies and cancellations, and then pages the doctors through Cortext.
Keep track of office rotations, their different locations and phone numbers.
Keep an updated list of physicians who left and their numbers as well as new physicians, current physicians, and their locations.
Public relations:
general information, telephone numbers, addresses and directions.
Answering service responsibilities.
Keeps an updated Rolodex of all physicians' instructions with changes on a daily basis.
Know each physician's specialty, location and hours of operation.
Calm irate patients and physicians.
Keep a pleasant speaking voice at all times.
Keep an updated on call sheet for all physicians.
Overhead pages, emergencies, patient meetings and others.
Proofread all telephone listings.
Pages maintenance when offices need them.
Organizes and efficiently handles switchboard/answering service material.
Responsible for calling in telephone repairs.
Maintain information in a confidential manner.
Complies with BMG Corporate Compliance policy and HIPPA regulations.
Performs other duties as required by Supervisor/Management.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school graduate or GED.
Six months of switchboard experience, knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
