The Crime Victims Justice Project is operated by C+FS' Center for Resolution and Justice (CR+J).
CR+J provides a wide range of ADR and other conflict management services and trainings throughout Western New York.
Funded by the New York State Office of Victim Services, the CVJP offers our clients assistance with their civil legal and related needs in a holistic, trauma-informed manner.
Description:
The Center for Resolution and Justice (CR+J) at Child and Family Services (C+FS) seeks an experienced social worker (or similar) to serve as Project Coordinator for our Crime Victims Justice Project (CVJP).
The Project Coordinator will conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs and make linkages to related legal, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), mental health, and other community resources.
The Project Coordinator will work within an interdisciplinary setting to provide trauma-informed, holistic support for crime victims and other C+FS clients facing legal problems or interpersonal conflict.
This unique project is one of the first of its kind to pair ADR processes such as mediation, conflict coaching, and Restorative Justice practices with traditional legal services to create additional access to justice options and resources for clients.
CR+J administers the project and provides ADR services together with partners, the Center for Elder Law and Justice (CELJ) and Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP), who provide legal information and representation to project clients.

Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of client (and family) needs for CVJP clients and other C+FS clients; identify and make linkages to services addressing those needs; Work with CVJP staff and/or supervisors to implement and refine policy and procedures for CVJP client access to comprehensive assessment process; Create greater likelihood for clients' successful transition from intake to receipt of services by coordinating warm referrals to project partners for ADR and legal services; and/or community supports; May assist in coordination and staff legal clinics as they may occur; Maintain relationships with civil legal service and other community partners through ongoing partnerships and involvement in multidisciplinary teams, committees, coalitions, etc.
; Work with CVJP staff and/or supervisors to identify systemic and other barriers to client wellbeing and opportunities for collaborative problem solving with community partners; Engage with individuals and systems to effect positive change for the crime victim and their families; Provide legal and social work referral support for all clients of CR+J; Utilize electronic case management system to input, update and close case files; and prepare periodic reports; Electronically track and monitor follow up of services offered to clients; Work with CVJP staff and/or supervisors and agency partners to design and deliver client feedback survey for CVJP; Work collaboratively with a focus on teamwork across all programs, including C+FS, CR+J, and partner civil legal services organizations; Plan and participate in community outreach efforts; Maintain updated database of community resources, contact information and program eligibility for project's clients; Assist clients with OVS victim compensation application and monitor application status; Participate in the quality assurance efforts in accordance with State, agency, and CR+J requirements; Work collaboratively with a focus on teamwork across all CR+J initiatives and foster this culture within the CVJP; Develop and deliver in-service training for staff and other program stakeholders, based on areas of identified interest or need, or as requested by Director or program manager; Attend and participate in regular project, CR+J and agency meetings; Assist with developing and supervising project intern program; Attend professional development trainings as required; Incorporate the agency mission, values and philosophy in decisions, behaviors and actions; Model and practice sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions and in accordance with trauma informed practices; Minimum Requirements:
Experience in project management with proven success; MSW preferred; applicants with a relevant bachelors degree and significant experience performing similar functions will also be considered; Experience in providing trauma-informed services; Must be sensitive to impact of violence on individuals and families throughout our communities; Experience in peaceful conflict resolution strategies and/or working with people in high conflict situations preferred; Aptitude for business operations and efficiencies; Excellent organizational, listening, oral and written communication skills; Superior interpersonal, engagement and collaboration skills; Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to enter data into case management database, utilize Excel for reporting, and Zoom/Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings, and the ability to produce PowerPoint presentations, etc.
; Must be flexible, able to work both independently and on a team environment and be willing to adapt responsibilities according to program needs and demands; Ability to manage time and complete activities and projects proficiently; Willing and able to frequently travel to and work in a variety of settings, including C+FS offices, courts, community offices and remotely; Willing to travel occasionally throughout and outside of WNY for local, regional, statewide meetings and other professional development opportunities.
