We have an exciting new opportunity for an APPLICATION ENGINEER to join our growing engineering team here at the corporate headquarters in Amherst, NY.
As an Applications Engineer, you will be engaging with customers on an exciting range of electrification applications consisting of Allied products including motors, drives, gearboxes and other Allied products and systems.
You will serve as a liaison within Allied and with its customers, distributors, and representatives.
You will be involved in systems development including design, analysis, integration, testing and certification of electromechanical actuation and motion control systems.
This includes working with electrical, mechanical, software and systems engineers as well as manufacturing operations.
At Allied you will have the exciting opportunity to work on embedded electronics that control brushless DC motors and associated actuation systems in the Industrial, Automotive, and Aerospace markets including major process automation, vehicle control, and space launch system providers.
The engineer will research, develop, design, implement, test, and evaluate software solutions in conjunction with hardware product development.
Your efforts will deliver high value solutions that provide our customers with a sustainable competitive advantage in their target markets.

Our products include motors, controllers, and gearing solutions.
Primary
Responsibilities:
As a part of the North American Solution Center, you will support Allied Motion sales personnel and/or customers engineering personnel to develop and analyze system requirements, available data, and other preliminary matters pertinent to the inquiry or sale.
Serves as a liaison to obtain and provide engineering specifications and related information, expedite material requisitions and production work orders.
Provides technical assistance to interpret, analyze and resolve procurement, manufacturing, installation, and field operating problems.
Oversees product installation and trial operations, analyzes and resolves operating, and other field problems related to customer installations.
Prepares reports, maintains records, files, and a references library incidental to application of products.
Keeps informed of new developments in relation to engineering fields as they relate to divisions products.
Trains in-house to gain a thorough understanding AM products, applications, and specifications.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Masters a plus 0 8 years of work and/or intern/co-op experience in a technical, manufacturing environment.
Collaborates well in a team environment.
Sensitive to clients needs, can develop long lasting client relationships.
Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as MatLab, Altium, Ansys, Simulink, etc.
