Grant Writer

Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) is GROWING and actively seeking a Grant Writer.
The Grant Writer will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, developing a thorough understanding of all current grant contracts & programs, identifies potential funders for NHC programs & capital needs, and takes lead on writing grants.
Responsibilities:
Reviews and develops a thorough understanding of all current grant contracts and programs.
Identifies potential funders for NHC programs and capital needs.
Reviews application guidelines to determine if foundation, government agency or corporation is a good match for NHC goals.
Takes lead on writing grants for government and foundation funders.
Assembles proposals and LOIs for submission including all required documentation and packaging.
Maintains quality control over grant submittals.
Assists in data collection and reporting for organizational purposes.
Utilizes UDS mapper and other GIS data to determine area demographics to support grant applications and outreach/community engagement events.
Aligns grant portfolio with strategic plan and emerging community needs and reporting with the format of the strategic plan goals.
Holds grant work groups accountable for deadlines and grant compliance requirements and establishes grant outcome reporting measures, grant documentation, develops dashboards for those grants when appropriate.
Works with leadership and management team to develop budgets for grant proposals and applications.
Creates implementation plan for all open and upcoming grant projects.
Works with the leadership team and Director of Training and Development to select and train managers and staff to meet the deliverables of grants.
Holds accountable staff to ensure the coordination of services related to grants.
Prepares and manages timely completion of grant reports and renewal applications.
Keeps and follows reporting and renewal calendar, prepares reports and renewals for submission and obtains necessary information from managers as required.
Works with the VPoF to create a detailed report monthly on grant funds.
Uses that data as part of accurate financial reports for managers, President and funders.
Keeps President and Grants Committee informed of grant application and reporting activity, awards and declines.
Assists President and leadership in working with partner organizations to assess and develop community service programs to meet the evolving needs of patients and the community.
Maintains and develops community partnerships to meet the needs of patients and emerging community needs.
Develops and maintains a current roster with contact information of potential grants, application deadlines, deliverables/goals, invoices and report deadlines.
Prepares presentations and materials to provide education and information on grants and projects to staff and stakeholders.
Using donor management software, maintains and cultivates list of prospective donors and supporters and collaborates with Communications Department to share important information and upcoming opportunities.
Uses needs assessment data in conjunction with partnership lists to assess strengths and gaps in partnerships.
Participates in development committee to support all aspects of fundraising including the annual event Complete and submits certificate of need submissions to department of health through NYSE-CON system.
Develops consistent marketing, messaging, and storytelling in collaboration with Communications to ensure grant requests and proposals communicate NHC mission and goals.
Seeks out and presents innovative opportunities for President, leadership team and board to consider.
Coordinates with supervisor to develop and submit a monthly report to the President on accomplishments in key areas of all grants in progress and other pertinent work.
Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Master's in Public Health or other similar focus preferred with health care experience.
At least three to five years of health care related grant writing and development experience.
Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
