POSITION SUMMARY The Fine Arts Program at Villa Maria College seeks a PART-TIME INSTRUCTOR(s) for the FALL 2023 semester.
The fall semester begins on August 28 and ends on December 11, 2023.
The instructor(s) will handle all aspects of teaching History of Art I & II undergraduate courses within the Fine Arts program.
History of Art I covers the period from prehistoric to the Renaissance and Art History II from the early Renaissance to present day, with special concern for 19th and 20th Century art.
Duties include organizing lectures, demonstrations, generating and distributing assignments, assisting students with technical and creative questions related to assignments and grading.
A complete course curriculum and guidance from full-time faculty will be available to instructor(s).
QUALIFICATIONS o Master's degree in fine arts or related field required.
o Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching art at the college level.
o Experience teaching Art History I & II courses.
o Outstanding communication skills.
Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with students.
o Ability to teach studio courses is required.
o Strong commitment to learn and be self-motivated.
o Excellent managerial and classroom management skills.
Essential Functions:
General environment requires employee to be flexible.
This work may include hours standing and walking, including up and down stairs, moving items of up to 25-pounds.
Evening and weekend hours may be needed, on occasion, to perform work associated with this position.
