6K a year Works in a site-based afternoon Respite program with children and teens with developmental disabilities to provide fun and enrich their lives through activities such as games, music, art and homework help, providing relief to people who are responsible for their primary care and support.
All Direct Support professionals support the persons served character, choices, strengths, interests and needs while ensuring a safe, healthy and clean environment.
Also seeking people to work Friday and Saturday evenings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Respects and maintains the confidentiality of the program participants.
Demonstrates a positive and caring attitude towards program participants, families, and staff.
Responsible for the safety and well-being of program participants.
Assists program participants with activities of daily living as needed.
Assists program participants with mealtime supports as needed.
Assists in the development and implementation of monthly activity calendars.
Assists program participants in social and recreational activities.
Assists program participants with homework assignments as needed.
Maintains positive relationships and interactions with families of program participants.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with program host site.
Safely transports program participants to and from program and recreational activities when applicable.
Performs daily site cleaning, food preparation and laundry as needed.
Completes all tasks necessary to ensure health and safety of each person receiving services' Participates in staff/ program/ other meetings as assigned.
Responsible for daily documentation as per OPWDD and agency standards.
Completes and reviews daily on-line documentation and agency forms as applicable.
Keeps in compliance with agency mandated in-service and online trainings.
Performs CPR and Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R).
Responsible for recording time worked at the start and end of each shift.
Complies with all agency policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 18 years of age.
HS Diploma/GED preferred.
NYS Driver's License that meets agency policy preferred, unless otherwise specified by program.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to read and write.
Ability to meet physical requirements of the position when performing the following:
standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling and climbing.
Lifting requirement of 35 lbs.
Ability to lift and transfer individuals as required by prescribed program/plan.
Ability to move, reposition, and place participants in pieces of equipment.
Physical agility and ability to react to emergency situations, including Strategies for Crisis Intervention and Prevention (SCIP-R) certification as per regulatory guidelines.
Certification in CPR.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
