Grounds and Event Set-up Assistant

Must be available Saturday and Sunday mornings Avanti Mansion in Buffalo, NY is looking for a part time Grounds and Event Setup Assistant to join our team.
We are located at 4409 South Park Ave.
Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, able to work alone and as part of a team, and has an interest or passion for putting on a spectacular wedding! This job entails flipping rooms on mornings on the weekends in between events to set-up the tables and chairs for upcoming events with one to two other coworkers.
You will keep all event spaces cleared of any debris, move furniture and set pieces into place, setting up large rented d cor items, miscellaneous indoor and outdoor cleaning tasks.
Other tasks include keeping the flower beds and greenery trimmed, neat and professionally maintained; and other event specific miscellaneous tasks.
This is a great position for someone who doesn't want to work behind a desk or deal with customers! This job is perfect for someone who likes being active.
Candidate MUST be able to keep on task without constant supervision and MUST pay attention to detail.
This position is seasonal and part time, with most consistent hours during the summer and into fall.
However hours depend entirely on our event schedule.
Summer weekly hours will be anywhere between 5-15 hours per week.
Responsibilities Setup venue spaces for events - including tables and chairs for ceremony sites and reception areas Light landscaping duties, mostly limited to weeding and keeping spaces looking clean Cleaning duties Maintain business cleanliness, professional appearance and hygiene Ensure safety regulations are met Qualifications Strong, able-bodied person, able to lift 50lb or more alone consistently, and team-lift 100lb or more.
This job will leave you sweaty and dirty on most days, MUST be ok with getting dirty! Able to work outside in all types of weather when needed Experience working in events preferred, but not necessary Capable of learning new skills quickly Able to read maps and diagrams to understand event layout Previous banquet setup experience is a plus, but not required We are looking forward to seeing you!
