Fish and Wildlife Technician 1

This position provides technical support for amphibian and reptile projects within Region 9. May include select sites in Region 8. Field work may include some travel and variable work schedule. Primary Duties Include:
- Planning, coordination, and implementation of queensnake surveys. - Careful handling of live snakes for data collection. - Collection and processing of eDNA samples for analysis. - Clean, maintain, and organize field equipment. - Enter, compile, and organize data from surveys in Excel and GIS. - Coordinate with other Wildlife staff and volunteers to schedule and complete surveys. - Contact landowners for permission to access private land for surveys. - Assist with population estimate and development of a conservation plan for the queensnakes. Additional Duties May Include:
- Assist with surveys for Blanding's turtles, spotted turtles, and hellbenders. - Assist with other herpetile conservation program tasks as needed.

Salary Range:
From $17.69 to $17.69 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
30 semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries; marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Preferred:
proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as experience using ArcMap GIS software.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
