RESPONSIBLE BANKING MANAGER

Description Job SummaryThe Responsible Banking Manager is responsible for managing, testing, and monitoring assignments from the Chief Compliance Officer or Fair Banking Officer and developing, managing, and conducting enterprise and business unit risk assessments with a UDAAP focus, and managing risk assessments from business units' compliance staff.
The position is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and recommending future actions for global processes and procedures to proactively prevent UDAAP.
Essential FunctionsDeliver subject matter expertise to others within and outside the department; Consult with business units to help maintain appropriate regulatory risk assessment procedures and improve compliance management; Analyze for completeness and accuracy business units' risk assessments; Communicate regulatory risk to business unit's compliance staff; Collaborate with business units to develop and implement enhanced compliance measures.
Respond to and document business units' compliance questions and inquiriesPrepare the Northwest's regulatory compliance testing / monitoring reports for compliance managementAnalyze monitoring reports for weaknesses in Northwest's compliance management systemCommunicate with senior management and general staff to effectively deliver compliance message in line with compliance management programAct as Technical Regulatory Compliance Expert across operational, lending, and deposit functionsAnalyze UDAAP compliance risks; Determine appropriate controls to mitigate UDAAP risksDevelop risk assessments to meet strategic goals of Northwest and business unitsPrepare strategy with business unit to develop and maintain appropriate compliance controlsDevelop relationships with business units' compliance staffManage business units' risk assessments to assure appropriate compliance test and monitorMaintain culture of compliance with business unitPrepare reports for compliance management staff that monitor the Northwest's current level of regulatory compliance performancePrepare and analyze monitor reports regarding Northwest's regulatory compliance requirementsAssist compliance management in preparing for regulatory compliance performance examinations with regulatorsIdentify train weaknesses in our staff's regulatory compliance knowledgePerform the monitor requirements of the Northwest's annual compliance programOversee business unit compliance staff's risk assessmentsInterpret regulatory laws to identify gaps in Northwest's or affiliates' compliance management processes or proceduresManage business units' compliance risk assessmentsEnsure document and data integrityPrepare management reportsDevelop tools and processes that enhance compliance efficiencyIdentify and resolve compliance issuesCommunicate regulatory risk to Chief Compliance Officer and Fair Bank OfficerMaintain a high level of regulatory compliance expertisePromptly answer questions and provide guidance to business unitPerform monitor reports on scheduleIdentify issues that require further analysisPresent relevant finds to Chief Compliance Officer and Fair Bank OfficerPresent final report to business unit managerFollow-up on corrective issuesAnalyze business units' risk assessments for accuracyAppraise adequacy of corrective actionsSummarize results and findsPrepare monitor reportsMaintain work papers and samplesResearch and improve report dataRecommend improvements to proceduresMinimize departmental non-payroll costsMinimize risk and maximize benefits to NorthwestManage, identify, and communicate all possible litigation issues to affected business unit and senior managementManage, identify, and communicate all possible UDAAP issues to affected business unit and senior managementPrepare Board of Director and senior management reports reflecting trends and escalation issues surrounding customer complaintsUnderstand the reasons and factors behind complaints and working toward solving customers' problemsAnalyze and monitor reports for weaknesses in Northwest's compliance management systemManage and mentor staff regarding their development to perform dutiesCommunicate guidance to appropriate business unitsAnalyze complaints and determine root causePrepare reports, discuss reports, and manage meetings with outside/internal examiners regarding compliance functions listedMonitor complaints and work toward reducing their numbersDevelop and prepare procedures to execute policies adopted for fair banking, resolution management, and UDAAP risk managementOversee research, investigations, negotiations, and resolution of all types of customer appeals and grievancesAssist CCO in reviewing and approving marketing materials.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
