The New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) seeks an attorney capable of handling significant, complex and voluminous litigation in the Sex Offender Management Bureau in Western New York. The Bureau represents the State of New York in state court proceedings related to Mental Hygiene Law Article 10. Cases in the Bureau frequently present questions of the Mental Hygiene Law, criminal law, constitutional law, agency law and statutory interpretation. Attorneys handle all phases of litigation, including trials. Superior lawyering skills, including research, writing, legal advocacy and legal analysis, are required. Some in-state travel is required. Two (2) or more years of post-graduate legal experience is required. Prior prosecutorial experience is a plus.

Minimum Qualification
Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
